Chinatown or Petaling Street is inhabited by a bunch of scam artists. ALmost every single thing on sale there are cheap knock offs and the traders there will take you for everything you’ve got. Mid Valley is much better but prices are pretty regular. For what you want, try Bukit Bintang and Times Square. Much better quality goods at reasonable prices. But what the heck, if you’re earning in Pounds Euros or Dollars, almost everything will look cheap to you.

Textiles can get easier at along Road / Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman (Jalan TAR) Located at opposite SOGO Shopping complex )

Of course. You can finding what do you want but in my opinion, better you trying to get the Malaysia tourism guide. Also check from Malaysia tourism board website.

There are dozens of good music shops in KL and all the best ones carry Gibson and Epiphone. My favorite is The Guitar Store in Jalan Manis, Cheras. Bentley Music in Bukit Bintang has a huge selection but is somewhat impersonal.

There are no “cheap” prices….because prices change all the time – what you get is a bargain price. You may get a digital camera cheap cheap, but the sales girl put on her charm, and you go crazy and buy that not so good tele lens for more than you have to ….So, if you are offered something cheap, be careful… sometimes, you are offered spmething free for buying something, e.g. a camera, – too good to be true, and find that the camera is faulty…..So, cheap prices mean nothing….Buyers beware !
